Venezuelan Luís Sanchez has a passion for colours, materials and the exotic. Lisboan João Branco enjoys drawing and taking draping technologies, modelling and cutting processes to new levels. Together, they combine their eclectic influences – including musicals of the 50s, horror movies of the 70s and legends, tales and local superstition like Alice in Wonderland versus Bram Stoker’s Dracula – to create ready-to-wear couture dresses and outfits.
For the 37th edition of Portugal Fashion held in the grand ballroom at Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon (com link para o website), Storytailor’s SS2016 collection was inspired on Os Lusiadas, the Portuguese Epic poem by Luis de Camões and Portuguese Azulejos. Indigo faces and white cotton voluminous skirts were all part of the mise en scène, which was a perfect fit with the romantic feel of the Pedro Leitão Ballroom, and Hotel’s spiral staircase.
