The beautifully restored 1950s dining room perfectly sets the scene for the fine attention to detail and exemplary service that awaits at Varanda. With its contemporary Mediterranean cuisine and views over Eduardo VII Park, it is the restaurant of choice for the local aristocracy, political movers and shakers, movie stars and international jet-setters.
Over lunch hours, the room displays a lavish buffet with a choice as wide as the room: from cold cuts, salads and sushi, hot dishes which usually include some Portuguese cuisine classics. By the entrance, opening the buffet there is the desserts station, to make sure you won’t miss it and try some of the Executive Pastry Chef Diogo Lopes’ creations.
During dinner hours, from 7:30 pm, the ambience changes to leave space to a more intimate atmosphere, offering an a la carte menu, in which guests can enjoy Chef Carlos Cardoso delights, such as: the sophisticated Balfegó tuna marinated with passion fruit, citrus and oscietre caviar; the delicate Algarve red prawns with cold cherry and verbena soup; the cooling Macerated pineapple with exotic fruits, lemon and basil sorbet; and the colorful Cherry baba with gin and red fruit infusion and elderberry sorbet.
For breakfast, indulge in our signature creations, thoughtfully crafted to offer a delicious and memorable start to your day, such as: the show-stopping Eggs Royale, served on a homemade English muffin with smoked salmon and hollandaise sauce; the sweet tooth pleasers French Toasts with nata cream and fresh berries; and the refreshing Açaí Bowl with quinoa, chocolate müesli, banana, almond butter, and strawberries.
Over the weekend, don’t miss Weekend Brunch—a family ritual for locals and guests alike. One of Lisbon’s top eateries — reservations are highly recommended!
