Ladurée is a name that no longer needs an introduction. Straightaway our minds drift off to pastel coloured macarons and elegant Parisian tea rooms. Much has been written and said about Ladurée Paris, and despite there not being a worldwide consensus about “the” best flavour (we’re torn between Pistachio, Rose, Orange Blossom AND Raspberry…), the fact is that Ladurée is macaron dream land.
Since the walls of the first salon on the rue Royale were painted green back in 1862, the Ladurée world has grown well beyond the French capital, from Tokyo to LA, Melbourne to Monaco, and now, finally, to Lisbon’s chichest Avenue, Av. Da Liberdade. And just half-way down too… After Vuitton, Prada and just next door to Gucci – which means you can pop in for a sugar fix – perfect for powering your shopping spree.
In case you don’t have a sweet tooth, there is plenty of choice too: from the maison’s signature Vol au Vent or the infamous Croque-Monsieur.
