Catarina Mantero established a gallery in Lisbon dedicated to contemporary figurative art. Galeria Belard, located in front of the Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon, represents ten national and international artists from all eras and situations who are unified by figurative painting.
Tania Alvarez, Joana Galego, Zoë Sua Kay, Kathryn Goshorn, Mariana Horgan, Ana Jacinto Nunes, Eurico Lino do Vale, Alex Merritt, Mafalda d’Oliveira Martins and Jorge Vascano contributed to the opening exhibition in November 2022.
Catarina Mantero, who was born in Lisbon, pursued a degree in Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon (FBAUL) and a master’s degree at the New York Academy of Art (NYAA). She returned to Portugal after finishing her studies in New York with the intention of starting an art gallery in Lisbon.
Meanwhile, Galeria Belard has various objectives, including a programme that calls for the inauguration of a new exhibition, individual or collective, with in-house and guest artists, every two months.
