Until 29th January, Atelier-Museu Julio Pomar presents "Void".
VOID: Júlio Pomar and Julião Sarmento, is an exhibition that is inserted in a set of exhibitions from Atelier-Museu Julio Pomar, that seeks to overlap Júlio Pomar work with other artists' work, looking to establish new relations between the painter masterworks and contemporaneity.
In this exhibition, Julião Sarmento, shows a set of works on canvases and paper, with some literary references, but without any figure. On the other hand, Julio Pomar work displays a set of paintings and drawings, executed during the 60's about Paris' metro and other natural elements.
Along the set of exhibitions, each invited artist will perform an interview so that the public can understand the artist's motivations, their voice, and inspiration for their work.
For this exhibition, Julião Sarmento sought to explore the idea of "Void", which can be understood as an empty space, something that fades; something that is lived and then lost or prevented from. A lack, an opening, an emptiness a vacuum...
