Sculpture is the shared passion by two collectors, Calouste Gulbenkian and Carl Jacobsen, that are now shown together for the first time at Gulbekian Foundation exhibition. The same collection will then travel the Copenhagen Glyptotek.

Surprisingly, Calouste Gulbenkian's collection, acquired over his lifetime, reveals connections with the Danish works.  The similarities between both collections are not only in the sculptors but also in the themes both picked - more than once, there are different versions of the same work with variations of scale or material.

These convergences between the two collections are the common ground for this exhibition, which arranges a selection of thirty timeless works into groups according to the poses of the figures.

Some of the artists exhibited include names such as such as Rodin, Carpeaux and Dalou, who helped define the 19th century in France.
