Between April 7th and 17th, Peixe em Lisboa - LISBON FISH & FLAVOURS festival celebrates the city's food specialty - fish from the Atlantic - in its many different preparations, recipes and forms. Live cooking demonstrations, tastings and entertainment will all be part of the menu at Pátio da Galé, an emblematic venue, once the Royal Palace, set in the river-front Terreiro do Paço square in downtown Lisbon.
This year, in its 9th edition, there’s an exciting new participant in the event! After being present with a live cooking station in 2014, Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon’s Chef extraordinaire Pascal Meynard will be representing the Hotel with a stand in Peixe em Lisboa. Here he will show off some of his favourite recipes, techniques and, of course, signature dishes for all to see and taste. The light Sea Bream Tartar with Azorean passion fruit mousse and Espellete Pepper, Cara Cara Navel and crunchy Xerez is sure to be an instant hit.
This unique opportunity allows the Chef to take his craft from the backstage of Varanda Restaurant out in the open, for all to enjoy, and further recognizes his contribution and commitment to working with local produce, and his love affair with the Portuguese coast and its fish and seafood.
Together with a selection of top Lisbon Restaurants and Chefs; two-star Michelin Chef José Avillez from Belcanto and Mini-Bar, Kiko Martins from Cevicheria and Vitor Sobral from Tasca da Esquina, among others, Chef Pascal’s stand will open daily at Peixe em Lisboa - LISBON FISH & FLAVOURS, April 7th to 17th, on most days from Noon to midnight.
Each Chef will present a menu offering fish and seafood options, with prices ranging from 4€ to 12€. Inside the venue, besides the restaurants stands, clients will find live gastronomic presentations at the auditorium by renowned chefs from Portugal and all over the world – This years speakers include Elena Arzak, from Donostia, with three Michelin Stars, in San Sebastian, Spain, Pino Cuttaia, with two Michelin Stars at La Madia, in Sicily, Italy, renowned Portuguese Chef Henrique Sá Pessoa, Nuno Mendes, who recently opened a Portuguese restaurant in London whilst still at the helm of Chiltern Firehouse, and the list goes on with some of the most important Chefs in the world, who have all graced Peixe em Lisboa with their presence.
Also part of the experience are cooking classes with tips and tricks from some of the best Portuguese chefs, a gourmet market where you can find all of the best local products to take back home and wine pairings based on fish and seafood.
The Chef asks clients to share their photos on social media using #PeixebyPascal - he would love to see your experience!
