New Year’s concert

As a prelude to the starting New Year, the best way to enter to 2019 will be listening to music, good music.

At Gulbenkian Foundation, on the 4th January, Gulbenkian's orchestra will play the traditional New Year's concert. The line-up is exquisite, classy and tasteful.

New Year’s Concert including a generous smattering of pieces by Johann Strauss II and Josef Strauss, as well as some key works by Mozart, Beethoven, and Schubert.

On the list, there is the masterpiece by Johann Strauss II,  the waltz The Beautiful Blue Danube,  premièred in 1867, which has been a huge success ever since.
