Open House is an international event, to which more than 30 cities participate worldwide. The event aims to open to the public spaces that are usually close to public, and through guided tours connect people to architecture and to the city. In Lisbon, the event organized by Trienal de Arquitectura, started in 2012 is an unique opportunity to know some of the most iconic buildings in the city, its history and authors.
Furthermore there are thematic planned guided tours: "Looking Lisbon", "Discovering Backstage", "The city rehabilitated", and "Creation".
In the program, the listed buildings to visit include palaces, churches or monasteries such as Loreto Palace,Ajuda National Palace, São Vicente de Fora Monastery; Lisbon's landmarks as the Águas Livres Aqueduct, Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation; Private houses like the Apartment in Arco do Cego, Apartment in S.Bento; Theaters or even studio artists like Julio Pomar Studio.
During the Open House weekend all the spaces of the rotary are open and free to public to visit.
