Gin is now more fashionable than ever and, with summer knocking at our doors, the demand for this refreshing drink is on the rise.

With that in mind, and the ever-growing refinement of the gin consumer, the Ritz Bar and Gin Lovers have come together to bring the best premium gin menu in Lisbon to Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon. It's an unexpected partnership that brings together a young and cool brand – Gin Lovers – and an already established institution built on its reputation for superior quality - Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon.

Be it with friends or family, guests can stop by the Ritz Bar’s fantastic outdoor terrace, relax, enjoy the resident DJ’s beats and try the exclusive new Gin Lovers menu. The menu includes 14 premium gins, among them Tanqueray Nº 10, Martin Miller’s, G’Vine, Gin Mare, Bulldog, Beefeater, Monkey 47, Plymouth, London Nº1, Blue Coat and of course the undeniable Hendricks. But as there are always two sides to the same story, the gins are served in two distinct ways: in their Classic concoction, with tonic water, and the Signature Gins by Gin Lovers, with a high-level modern twist.

To complete a menu that on its own would already be spectacular, the Ritz Bar’s eight barmen have created gin-based cocktails to complement the menu - unique and exclusive cocktails that are only available at the Ritz Bar. “We have once again challenged the norm at the Ritz Bar and created these innovative cocktails, using gin, which was until now, almost only paired with tonic water,” says Ricardo Felgueiras, Ritz Bar Manager. "And if you are curious to know why my cocktail is called SWS, well, you’ll have to ask me in person."

Besides Lisbon’s best gin menu, this partnership also brings the Gin Lovers Experiences on June 7 and 14, July 12 and September 20, 2014 to the Hotel. The Gin Lovers Experience is much more than a gin workshop and masterclass; it is an intense experience in which the practical side is emphasized over books and theory, in a time where this phenomenon gathers great support across the globe and, of course, Portugal is no different.

Led by a team of trained professionals including Cláudio Cruz, Daniel Carvalho and Miguel Veiga Miranda, the experience includes a presentation of the history of gin and tonic water, as well as the elements that make it such a popular concept in gastronomy and lifestyle. The brands, alembic, distillation, botanics, ice, utilities, aromatization and the perfect serves all come together to enhance a workshop that aims to be dynamic, practical and absolutely enjoyable for the three hours of its duration, which will include a blind tasting and many other surprises just too good to reveal beforehand.

Executive Chef Pascal Meynard too will join Gin Lovers in creating a gin-themed dinner on June 21, 2014,where he defies common practice and creates a menu based on the drink, as opposed to choosing the drink to match the menu, which will prove to be a challenge for the Chef, as well as a different and enjoyable dinner for the guests and lovers of gin.

Guests are also invited to the terrace of the Ritz Bar where, from June 5, the Hotel's DJ will enliven Lisbon’s evenings and where one will be able to find the best of both worlds with Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon and Gin Lovers coming together in a space that promotes the elevation of gin, and offers an experience and savoir-faire in presenting and serving gin unparalleled in the city.

Guests are also encouraged to share their experiences in social media via the #FSGin hashtag.
