From October 6th to 16th, some of the main cinemas in Lisbon are hosting the 17th edition of the French Cinema Festival - a classic to cinema's fans. On the program, comprising premieres and events, among directors, movies, there are big 7th art names,  such as Anne Fontainne, Danièle Thompson, Éric Cantone, Fabianny Deschamps, Marielle Gautier, Olaf Hund, etc.

Organized by the Institut Français du Portugal, French Embassy and Alliance Française, on the program this year, besides the 25 premieres, the program comprises also a movie set dedicated to the godmother of this 17th edition, the director Anne Fontaine.

An homage to the french cinema, directed and curated through the eye of the director and former critic Bertrand Tavernier, is presented at Cinemateca Portuguesa.

Another input in this year's edition is the movie set ACID, to show the plurality within the independent cinema, in a partnership with Association du Cinéma Indépendant pour sa Diffusion.

After Lisbon, the festival will be presented in other 10 Portuguese cities: Almada, Leiria, Coimbra, Porto, Viana do Castelo, Faro, Seixal, Aveiro, Beja e Setúbal, until the 16th November.
