Imagine a warm and starling Summer night, add an outdoor amphitheater with an English style garden and background scenario, set the tone and vibe with some of the best jazz notes played by some of the best jazz musicians, and you have what you need for a great Summer concert.

This is what will happen at Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation from the 4th August to 14th August, by the event Jazz in August, at the gardens and main halls of the Foundation.

The event will include many of the most interesting trends in contemporary jazz, featuring names such as Marc Ribot, Tim Berne, Peter Evans, Ana Mendoza, Paal Nilssen-Love and Portuguese names like Sérgio Carolino, Mário Costa, Alexandre Frazão, João Lobo, Gonçalo Almeida. The program will both interweave artists from North America and Europe. In between the event will exhibit some documentaries, talks and the launching of new records and publications.
