rissois-de-camarao

One of Chef Nuno Mendes' favourite dishes, the rissóis de camarão (shrimp rissoles) are a very popular Portuguese snack; a small croquette, enclosed in pastry or rolled breadcrumbs, served baked or - most frequently - deep-fried.

A regular at any café, barbecue or house party, these small snacks can fit any occasion, and are usually served as appetizers, though they can also be served as main dishes, usually with white rice.

In Lisbon, any café worth its name will have a good Rissol de Camarão, but we especially love the ones served along the coast of Cascais & Guincho, like at Porto de Santa Maria.
